Clarification – Family Pension in favor of Widow Sister dt 07.06.2022

Kindly refer to your letter bearing No.Pen-I/Coord/Coord.Finance-il/HM-1555, dated 21-04-2021, on the note above.

2.The case has been examined. It is observed that Mr. Samuel Javaid, ex-Additional Registrar (Court Secretariat/Head Judgment Writer) (BS-20) died on 26-04-2020. His sister Mrs. Venus sohail became a widow on 08-03-1994. Hence, she is entitled for grant of family pension in light of Rule-4.10(2)(B)(v) of the Punjab Civil Services Pension Rules read with para 5(b) of policy letter of Finance Department bearing No.FD-SR-III-4/1-77, dated 17-01-1977, for the unexpired period of 10 years only (copies enclosed), subject to the condition that she is the eldest surviving widow sister of the deceased officer.
