Subject: Public Relation Allowance
49.1 The Secretary Information & Culture briefed the Cabinet that on receipt of the subject request of Director General Public Relations Punjab, a summary was initiated for Chief Minister Punjab through Finance Department for provision of PR Allowance @150% on running basic pay in favor of employees of DGPR Punjab, Lahore.
49.2 The Cabinet was further apprised that Worthy Chief Minister, Punjab was pleased to approve PR Allowance @ 100% on initial basic pay along with continuation of Disparity Allowance (A0124T @ 15% & A0124H @ 25%) and placing of the subject matter before the Provincial Cabinet for its consideration.
49.3 Accordingly, the Cabinet was requested to consider and approve the PR Allowance @ 100% on initial basic pay along with continuation of Disparity Allowance (A0124T @ 15% & A0124H @ 25%) in favor of employees of DGPR Punjab under grant No. PC21023 (23-Miscellaneous Dept) LQ-4237-Public Relations.
DECISION No. 49:
The Cabinet considered and approved the proposal as mentioned in para 49.3 above.
No. SO&B&A(INF)1-14/2023(P-1): In pursuance of the approval of the Provincial Cabinet in its meeting dated 09.08.2023 and subsequent approval of Chief Minister in terms of Section 23 of Punjab Civil Servants Act, 1974, Governor of the Punjab is pleased to grant Public Relations (PR) Allowance @ 100% on initial basic pay of Basic Pay Scales – 2022 in favor of the employees of Directorate General Public Relations (DGPR) under grant No.PC21023(23-Miscellaneous Depts) LQ4237-Public Relations w.e.f. 09.08.2023.
- The said allowance will not be admissible to the following officers/officials:
i. Officers/Officials under suspension.
ii. Officers/Officials who have been made OSDs or who have been directed to report to the DGPR/Information & Culture Department on the charges of inefficiency/misconduct or indiscipline.
iii. When Officer/Official is on leave beyond 90-days, extra ordinary leave (without pay), study leave or training abroad.
iv. In case, Executive Allowance or any other cadre specific allowance is admissible on a post, then there will be an option to choose either of one in terms of para-2(b) of Finance Department’s letter No. FD.SR.III/9-131/2020 dated 05.10.2022.
v. Officers employed on pay package other than national pay scales (contract, MP Scales, etc) are not entitled to this allowance. This allowance will not be counted towards pension and commutation/gratuity.
