Subject: Pension to Unmarried Daughter

Kindly refer to your letter No. DAO/BWP/PENSION/HM/7933 dated 23.4.2010 on the subject noted above.

2. The matter has been examined in this department and as per clarification given by the SR Wing :

• The profession of advocate falls within the definition of “gainfully employed” in the light of Finance Department’s circular letter No. FD-SR-III-4-111/89 dated 22.7.1989 and Miss Shagufta Rehman is not entitled to the family pension of her deceased father.
• the contract employment in any Government or private institution also falls within above mentioned definition of “gainfully employed”

3. You are advised to take necessary action in the matter accordingly.
