Subject: Notional Increment or PP for the Purpose of Pension
I am directed to refer to your letter No.Pen.14818-20, dated 18.04.2008, on the subject cited above and to clarify the position as under:

1. | As to whether PP (Personal pay) in shape of notional increment, is to be allowed to the government servant who retired between 1st June to 30th November of the same year after completing six months in relevant pay scale without considering the maximum of scales or otherwise. | i). The government servants who retired on or after 1st June to 30th November of the same years, irrespective of the fact whether they have completed the stages of the pay scales or not are entitled for PP in the shape of notional increment. ii). The government servants who retired between 1st June to 30th November of the same year and have not served/performed up to 1/12 for earning PP in the same year, are also entitled for PP in the shape of notional increment as the word, “who retired between 1st June and 30th November” is self explanatory. |
2. | The persons who are promoted during 10/07 from lower to higher scales cannot avail the facility of PP of notional increment of the said year as they have not completed requisite stay of six months at the stage of their scales. | The persons who are promoted during 10/07 from lower to higher scales can avail the facility of PP or notional increment of the said year on exercising option laid down under Rule 10(3) of pay revision rules 1977 otherwise not. |
3. | 10% increase in pension allowed w.e.f. 01.07.2005 and 15% increase in pension allowed w.e.f. w.e.f. 01.07.2006 is admissible to those government servants who stand retired on or after 01.07.2007. | The Government Servants, who stand retired on or after 01.07.2007, are entitled to increase 10% and 15% as notified in this department’s notification No.FD.SR.III-6 672/2003, dated 11th January, 2008 (copy enclosed). |
