Subject: In service death benefits
I am directed to refer to your letter bearing No. KMP&R/2-3A(11)/2021-22/52/4576, dated 20.03.2024 on the subject noted above and the case has been examined and it is advised that wife or wives in the case of a male civil servant are entitled for grant of post in service death benefits in the light of policy letter of Finance Department bearing No.FD.SR-1/3- 10/2004, dated 15.08.2017 read with Para-1(3)(A)(a) of policy letter bearing No.FD.SR-1/3- 10/2004, dated 15.08.2007 (copies enclosed). In the presence of a widow, the father of the deceased civil servant is not entitled to grant post-in- service death benefits in terms of policy letter ibid.
