Withdrawal of Provision of Appointment under In-Service Death Quota – Federal 07.02.2025

Subject: In-Service Death
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Division’s O.M. No. 8/10/2013-E-2 dated 04-12-2015 read with O.M No. 8/23/2021-E-2(pt) dated 23-12-2022 and to state that in compliance with Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan’s judgement dated 18-10-2024 in C.P. No. 3390/2021 titled General Post Office, Islamabad and others vs Mr. Muhammad Jalal, the Prime Minister has approved to withdraw the provision of employment from the Prime Minister’s Assistance Package, to the extent of in-service deaths only, with effect from the date of pronouncement of judgement ibid. All other benefits under the Prime Minister’s Assistance Package shall continue to be admissible to the families of deceased civil servants.
2. However, the provision of appointment under Prime Minister’s Assistance Package for the benefit of legal heirs of martyred personnel of the law enforcement agencies and of civil servants who die on account of terrorist activities shall not be affected by the above referred judgement of the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan. Similarly, the instant judgment shall not affect the appointments already made of the widow/widower, wife, husband or child of deceased civil servants.
3. All Ministries/Divisions are requested to ensure circulation of the above-mentioned instructions to the attached departments and sub-ordinate offices under their administrative control for implementation in letter and spirit.
