Subject: Deposit of Pension contribution
It has been observed with great concern that Pension Contribution in case of Deputation or other such public servants is not being safely deposited in the Govt. Treasury as per provisions of Para 10.9 of CSR Punjab Vol-1, Part-1. The officers have not been proactive in recovering these charges as per the provisions of rule 10.12 of CSR. This is causing serious problems in maintaining the pension accounts and their balances properly as required under the rules.
2. Keeping in view the gravity of the situation, all concerned officers/officials are directed to work proactively in this regard by immediately lodging a claim against the Deputation/Borrowing organization as soon as the occasion arises. This will assist the concerned section/office to calculate and recover penal interest according to the spirit of Para 10.12 of CSR Vol-1
3. It is desired that all officers in Main Office and District Accounts Offices must comply with the directions and implement them forthwith in true letter and spirit.
