Subject: Conveyance Allowance during Summer
Please refer to your letter No.DAO/GRW/GAD/HM/57, dated 01.10.2013, on the subject noted above.
The case has been examined at length. However, the Finance Department observes that those school/college teachers who perform different duties during summer vacations subject to certification by the head of the Institutions/Department, are entitled to conveyance allowance as per instructions contained vide this Department’s letter dated 18-08-1977 (copy enclosed).
I am directed to refer to this Department’s circular lator No.FD. PC-21-1/77, dated 16.5.1977 regarding Revision/Crant of Comp neatory Allo arces, consequent upon the Revision of Pay Scales and to say that clarifications have been sought about admissibility of conveyanc allowance, Motor Cycle/Scooter/Motor Ou Mainten ne llowane during leave and vacation.
2. It has been decided that these allowances are not admissible during leave including Leave Property to Retirement and vacation. However, officers of the vacation Department who are required to attend to their official duties during vacation (or part thereof) would be entitled to draw the Car/Scooter Maintenance allowance, conveyance allowance for such period during vacation as is certified by the head of the Institution/Department to have been spent on duty.
