OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Accounts Service Rules
No. SOR-II(S&GAD)1-11/2005. In exercise of the powers conferred upon him under section 23 of the Punjab Civil Servants Act, 1974, (viii of 1974), the Governor of the Punjab is pleased to direct that the following rules shall be made:-
1. Short title and commencement.– (1) These rules may be called the Punjab Treasuries and Accounts Service Rules, 2006.
(2) These shall come into force at once.
2. Definitions. In these rules unless subject and context otherwise required-
- “Administrative Secretary” means Secretary to Government of the Punjab, Finance Department.
- “Commission” means the Punjab Public Service Commission;
- “Chief Minister” means the Chief Minister of the Punjab;
- “Government” means the Government of the Punjab;
- “Prescribed Examination” means prescribed in the regulations framed under these rules;
- “Service” means the Punjab Treasuries and Accounts Service; and
- “Schedule” means the schedule attached with these rules.
3. Number and nature of posts: The service shall comprise the posts as specified in the schedule and such other equivalent posts as may, from time to time, be specified by the Government.
4. Minim m qualification, method of recruitment, age limit and other related matters The minimum qualification, method of recruitment, age limit and other matters related thereto for the post shail be as given in the schedule.
5. Examinations and trainings.- The Government may prescribe, through regulations, such examinations and training courses for confirmation in service or promotion of members of the Service as it may deem fit.
6. Repeal. The Punjab Treasury and Accounts Service Rules, 1993 hereby repealed the extent of the posts specified in the schedule.
