Subject: Promotion of Senior Clerk
Will the Section Officer (E-III), Government of the Punjab, Irrigation Department, kindly refer to his letter No. SO(E-III)2-4/2023-25433 dated 11.05.2023 on the subject cited above?
- The case has been examined. Finance Department observes that the incumbents promoted as Account Clerk after 14.12.2018 were not rightly promoted as the post of Accounts Clerk stood re-designated as Accountant w.e.f. 14.12.2018 in light of Finance Department’s Notification No. FD.PC.40-43/2017(B) dated 14.12.2018 and the post of Accountant was to be separated from Clerical Cadre through amendment in the Service Rules.
- In view of the above, Administrative Department is requested to process the cases of promotion of Senior Clerks / Sub Divisional Clerks directly against the post of Head Clerk / Assistant after amendment in service rules as advised to C&W Department vide this department’s letters bearing No. FD.PC.40-43/2017(159/21) dated 07.06.2021 and No. FD.PC.40-43/2017(B)(WP.226/22) dated 05.12.2022 (copies enclosed).
