Subject: Competent Authority to Sanction
I am directed to refer to the subject cited above and to state that all Administrative Secretaries of Punjab Government have provided meritorious services / outstanding performance during the Current Financial Year-2022-23. The tasks assigned to them during the last six months were enormously challenging, necessitating commitment and persistent hard work. The accomplishment of tasks assigned to all Administrative Secretaries not only require a specialized aptitude and expertise but also hard work, commitment and zeal beyond normal hours of duty. The quantum and sensitivity of work completed is in itself a praiseworthy achievement.
2. I am further directed to state that the Chief Secretary, Punjab / Competent Authority has been pleased to allow honorarium equal to one month’s basic pay to the Administrative Secretaries, including SMBR, Chairman, P&D, ACS, Punjab and Secretaries of all wings of S&GAD except those who have already been awarded an honorarium during the Current Financial Year-2022-23 as per Finance Department’s letter No. FD.SR.1/9-7/2003 dated 27.12.2005, which authorizes a Head of Administrative Department to sanction an honorarium up to one month’s basic pay to a civil servant for work performed by him (copy enclosed).
