Subject: defunct Zila Councils
I am directed to send you a copy of the letter No.SO-Admn-11 (LG) 1-16/2003 dated 05.01.2005 on the above subject received from the Government of Punjab, Local Govt.. and Rural Development Department wherein it has been clarified that the employees of erstwhile Local Councils adjusted at Revenue, Excise & Taxation and Education Department etc., are not Government servants and not entitled to get the service benefits of G.P. Fund, Benevolent Fund & Welfare Fund etc.
2. You are, therefore, requested to act accordingly in light of advice of Local Government and Rural Development Department while dealing with Benevolent Fund cases of such employees.
